We're a third-generation family clinic, and the only locally-owned Fear Free practice in the Des Moines metro. For over 60 years, Ankeny families have trusted us with the pets they love.
Our story
It started in 1963 with a simple idea: treat every pet like your own, and every owner like a neighbor.
Three generations later, we're a full-service hospital for dogs, cats, birds and exotics. Still locally owned, still family-run, and still the folks who'll know your pet by name.
A gentler way to visit
Vet visits don't have to be scary. Our whole team is trained and certified to keep them calm, for every kind of pet.
The metro's only locally-owned Fear Free practice. Treats, patience and quiet rooms instead of restraint, from the waiting room to the exam table.
Cats aren't small dogs. We use gentle, cat-specific handling and calm spaces so your cat stays as relaxed as possible.

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, all major cards, CareCredit and Scratchpay for flexible financing.
Financing optionsWe see patients by appointment. Book online or give us a call, and please let us know as early as you can if you need to reschedule.
Book onlineFor everyone's safety and calm please keep your pets in the car, and call upon arrival to check in. Please keep dogs on a leash, and cats, birds and exotics secured in a carrier when you arrive.
