When should I consider a wellness plan
Plans are not right for everyone. They tend to make the most sense if:
- You would rather budget a flat monthly amount than face a larger bill at each visit
- Your pet is a senior and needs twice yearly exams plus screening bloodwork
- You have more than one pet and keeping track of who is due for what is a job in itself
- You have skipped or delayed recommended care before because of timing
- You want the reminders handled so nothing quietly slides past its due date
- You already have pet insurance and want the routine side covered too
Your visit
What to expect
Enrolling takes one short conversation, and after that most of the work is ours. Here is how a plan runs through the year.
- 1
Match the plan to the pet
Dogs are priced by weight, from 0 to 25 lbs up to 151 to 200 lbs, and cats have one plan. Each comes with or without the annual dental add-on. We will walk you through which one fits and exactly what is in it.
- 2
See the math before you sign
Ask us to compare the plan against what the same care would cost paid visit by visit. It is a fair question, we get it often, and you should have the numbers in front of you before you decide.
- 3
One monthly payment
The bundled care is spread across the term instead of hitting at each appointment. You still come in the same number of times, you just are not reaching for your wallet each time.
- 4
We keep the schedule
Due dates for exams, vaccines and screening tests live on our side. We remind you when something is coming up, which is the part that quietly makes the whole thing work.
- 5
Use it through the year
Plan care is used as it comes due rather than saved up. If your pet needs something outside the plan, we will tell you that clearly, and tell you what it costs before we do it.
- 6
Flexibility for every life stage
Your pet's needs today may look different from their needs next year. As they grow and change, you can explore options to keep their wellness plan aligned with their preventive care needs.

Common questions
What does a wellness plan cost?+
Cats are $36 a month, or $82 with the dental add-on. Dogs are priced by weight, from $54 a month for dogs up to 25 lbs to $70 a month for dogs 151 to 200 lbs, or $100 to $116 with dental. Prices are per pet, spread over 12 monthly payments. The full table is on this page, and we are happy to put the plan cost and the pay-as-you-go cost for the same care side by side.
What is actually included?+
The annual wellness exam, the core vaccines (DHLPP, Rabies and Bordetella for dogs; FVRCP and Rabies for cats), a basic intestinal parasite screen, annual bloodwork and urinalysis, and for dogs an annual heartworm test plus the ProHeart injection, which covers 12 months of heartworm prevention in one shot. Every plan also gets 50% off medical and progress exams during the plan period and discounted technician appointments. Anything not specifically listed is excluded, and we will always tell you before we do it.
Is this the same as pet insurance?+
No, and the difference matters. Insurance covers the unexpected: illness, injury, emergencies, usually with a deductible and a claim you file afterward. A wellness plan covers the expected, the care you already know your pet needs this year. They solve opposite problems, and plenty of families run both.
Does a plan cover emergencies or if my pet gets sick?+
No. Plans are built around routine preventive care. If your pet gets sick or injured, that visit is billed separately, which is exactly the gap pet insurance is designed to fill. We will always tell you up front what falls inside the plan and what does not.
Is a plan actually cheaper, or just spread out?+
Honestly, both things can be true, and the answer depends on the plan and the pet. Plans are usually priced so the bundle costs less than the same services purchased one at a time, and they often include member pricing on extras. But the bigger value for most families is behavioral: care that is already paid for does not get postponed. Ask us to run the comparison for your pet.
What if I need to cancel, or my pet passes away?+
Plans are agreements with terms, and those terms cover cancellation and the harder situations too. Ask us for the current terms before you enroll and we will walk you through them in plain language. We would much rather you understand it now than be surprised later.
Can I put more than one pet on a plan?+
Each pet enrolls on their own plan, since the care is matched to that animal's species and size, and pricing is per pet. If you have several pets, ask us how that works in practice and whether there is anything that makes the paperwork simpler.
Does the plan include a dental cleaning?+
Not by default, but every plan has an annual dental add-on for $46 a month more. It covers ultrasonic scaling and polishing, dental anesthesia, digital full-mouth dental X-rays, and the routine IV catheter and fluids, plus 10% off any dental work not included in the plan. Bloodwork needs to be done within the 3 months before the cleaning, which the plan already covers.
My pet is healthy. I would rather just pay as I go.+
That is a completely reasonable way to do it, and plenty of our clients do. A plan is a budgeting tool, not a medical requirement, and your pet gets the same care either way. It is worth considering if you have ever put off a visit because of when the bill would land, or if you have a puppy, a senior, or several pets to keep straight.
